Ingredients

2 cups of milk

1 egg

2 egg yolks

100 grams of flour

150 grams of sugar

50 grams of butter

1 teaspoon of salt

30 milliliters of rum

1 teaspoon of vanilla

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare this delicious dessert, first bring the milk to a boil with the vanilla extract and butter.

Step 2 : Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat the flour, sugar, and eggs until well combined.

Step 3 : Once the milk is boiling, add it to the mixture of flour, sugar, and eggs, making sure to get a smooth, lump-free batter.

Step 4 : Let the batter rest for one hour and then add the rum, mixing everything very well.

Step 5 : Preheat your oven to 270°C for about ten minutes.

Step 6 : Fill a silicone mold with 2/3 of the batter, without greasing it, as the batter will rise during baking and then spread out.

Step 7 : The key to achieving a perfect canelé lies in the cooking process: place it in the oven and bake for 5 minutes at 300°C, then reduce the temperature to 180°C and cook for about an hour.

Step 8 : The desired result is a dark brown exterior and a soft interior.

Step 9 : Once ready, remove the canelé from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.

Step 10 : Then, place it on a baking rack if possible — and it's ready to enjoy this exquisite dessert!
